Gyrokinesis
With this ability the Psion can control gravitational fields. They can bend gravity to make the environment very “heavy” or “light”, cause objects to “fall” toward another object instead of the earth (“nexus inducing”), flatten objects, and generate miniature black holes to compress objects into oblivion. “Gyrokinesans”, aka “Gravity Slingers”, also have the capability to repel and attract objects with the user as the epicenter. Offensive uses include repulsing people or objects with such force it could shatter wood, rocks, and human bones, and increasing gravity to crush opponents or decrease it to render them defenseless. Defensively, Gyrokinesis can be used to create a gravitational force-field repelling certain objects and attacks.

POWERS
1D Gravital Levitation- By concentrating on a specific, small, movable object, the Psion can lift the item with ease. The Psion manipulates the force of gravity around it, molding that field so that it is practically weightless. He/she then guides that field so that the item follows the path, making it travel through the weightless tunnel. Though the effects may be the same, this ability is much different than telekinesis, which instead lifts objects with a field of dense force created by the user’s mind. The psion can only lift very light objects with this ability, and can not use them to attack.

2D 0G/Flight Acceleration - The psion can now move very quickly in gravity-less environments.

3D Toss- The Psion has become so formidable at manipulating gravity fields around an item, that they can swiftly warp it towards a direction, creating a whip-like throwing effect. The character may toss anything he/she can lift by using their Gyrokinesis.

4D Concussion Beam The Psion can absorb large amounts of pure gravitational energy, releasing it at will. The beams can knock over objects/people in a single straight line.

5D Gravity Field- The user can surround themselves in heavy gravity, repelling or attracting anything that comes in contact with it. By repelling attacks and objects, the user can become quite untouchable depending on their focus.

6D Gravity Storm- At this level of Mastery, the Psion can manipulate gravity around a single person (or object), creating a gravital storm around them. Up becomes down, sideways becomes forward, etc. Anyone inside the field may attempt to move within the chaotic field, but risks harming themselves in the process. Otherwise, the target must remain still, hoping that the Psion either releases the storm or loses line of site from the subject.

7D Commanding Levitation– At this point, the user is so adept at manipulating matter that they can lift nearly anything that is not strongly fastened to the ground (such as transport trucks, small ships, etc.). Just like with Improved Levitation, the character uses his/her Gyrokinesis dicepool to lift objects, but multiplies the total by x2 before consulting the difficulty table.

8D Crush - With this power, the user is able to easily crush and/or deform objects around them simply by concentrating on the gravity around the target.

9D Gravity Constructs - The Psion has become a master of influencing gravity and can turn gravitons into tools or objects. The psion can create structures/buildings of varying permanence. Users may make bridges, homes or walls out of heavy gravital force, programming the field to stay in place, even when the Psion is away.

10D Black Hole Creation- - The user can create small black holes, a region of space time where gravity prevents anything, including light, from escaping. With this, the user can control the size of their black holes, and move it around to suck up everything in it's path.  Manipulation of black holes is a dangerous ordeal, and often times can cost not only those around it, but the Psion themselves, their lives.

1D: Gravitational Levitation
The ability to move objects through manipulating the gravitational field around it. Unlike Telekinesis, this ability manipulated the field of gravity around an object, instead of just lifting it with mental force. At this level, a psion can only lift the lightest of objects. These objects can not be flung like Telekinesis at this level.

Gyrokinesis Difficulty List

Very Easy for objects weighing one kilogram or less OR 2.2 lbs or Less

Easy for objects weighing one to 2-5 kilograms OR 4.4 lbs to 11.00 lbs

Moderate for objects 6 to 8 kilograms OR 13.2 lbs to 17.6 lbs

Difficult for 9 to 11 kilograms 19.8 lbs to 24.2 lbs

Very Difficult for 12 to 13 kilograms OR 26.4 lbs to 28.6 lbs

Heroic for objects weighing 14 to 15 kilograms OR 30.8 lbs to 33 lbs

Object may be moved at 10 meters per round; add +5 per additional 10 meters per round. The target must be in sight of the Psion.

Increased difficulty if object isn't moving in simple, straight-line movement:

+ 1 to +5 for gentle turns.

+ 6 to +10 for easy maneuvers.

+11 to +25 or more for complex maneuvers

Modified by proximity.
This power may be kept "up."

Effect: This power allows the Psion to levitate and move objects with the power of her mind alone. If used successfully,
the object moves as the Psion desires. A Psion can levitate several objects simultaneously, but each additional object requires a new telekinesis roll.
This power can be used to levitate oneself or others. It can be used as a primitive space drive in emergencies. When used to levitate someone against their will, the target may resist by adding her Perception or control roll to the difficulty number.

2D: 0-G/Flight Acceleration
The psion now understands the nature of gravity and gravity-less environments. The psion gains the Special Ability Hypermovement [Cost 1 Rank 3] when in 0-G atmospheres such as space. This essentially allows the psion to move +6 extra meters per round to their base move rate when in deep space or gravity-less environments. This ability is always active and does not take any actions to activate.

3D: Toss
Levitated objects can be used to attack other characters.

Such objects do...

  • 1D damage if under a kilogram
    2D if one to ten kilos
    4D if 11 to 100 kilos
    5D if 101 kilos to one metric ton
    6D starfighter-scale damage if one to ten tons and 5D starfighter-scale damage if 11 to 100 metric tons.


Such attacks require an additional control roll by the Psion, which acts as an attack roll against the target's dodge. If the
target doesn't dodge the attack, the difficulty is 10 + Cover and other Combat Modifiers.

4D: Concussion Beam
This ability allows the psion to blast a honed field of gravity at a direction or line of target(s). Anyone caught in the blast is knocked prone.

Range: Line of Sight in one direction (one straight line of squares). This Concussion Beam stretches out up to the psion's Gyrokinesis skill in squares.

Duration: Instant

Base Difficulty: 10 plus any regular combat modifiers if targeting a specific creature

Resistance: Gyrokinesis result vs Target's Stamina or Acrobatics

Effects: If the psion's Gyrokinesis roll is higher, the target(s) fall prone (takes an action to stand back up). Anything that is easily moveable in the beam falls to the ground and may create difficult movement depending on the GM's ruling.

5D: Gravity Field
The psion has become so talented at manipulating gravity, that they can create a protective field that stops any ranged or melee attacks (but not other psionic attacks). The user must spend a round concentrating (1 action) to active this ability. Depending on the roll result, the psion is able to better protect themselves against combat dangers. This ability can only be cast on the psion due to the amount of focus it takes to warp gravity around them.

Range: Self

Duration: 1 action to activate, an additional action per round to sustain

Result of Roll...

Very Easy: 1-5 (Psion creates a field of force that equals +1 to damage resistance checks from physical attacks)
Easy: 6-10 (Psion creates a field of force that equals +2 to damage resistance checks from physical attacks)
Moderate: 11-15 (Psion creates a field of force that equals +1D to damage resistance checks from physical attacks)
Difficult: 16-20 (Psion creates a field of force that equals +2D to damage resistance checks from physical attacks)
Very Difficult: 21-25 (Psion creates a field of force that equals +3D to damage resistance checks from physical attacks)

6D: Gravity Storm
The psion can focus on a single target, immobilizing them in a field of gravity that sways back and forth rapidly. The target may attempt to free themselves with either an Acrobatics or Stamina check against the psion's Gyrokinesis skill. If they succeed, the target can act accordingly so long as they move out of the single square they once were in. If they fail, the target is lifted up a few inches from the ground and spun violently. While no damage is done, the target can take no physical actions (such as movement, attacking, repairing). The target may still make mental actions such as Knowledge checks, Perception checks, or certain psionic abilities, but suffers a -10 due to the violent forces twirling them around. Unlike lifting a target with weaker Gyrokinesis abilities, once activated, this power does not need to be sustained. It lasts for a number of rounds equal to the psion's Gyrokinesis skill. Each round, the target can spend only 1 action attempting to free themselves with a new Stamina or Acrobatics skill check versus the psion's original roll.

Range: Line of Site

Duration: 1 action to use

Special: Character can use on multiple targets, each counting as another action

Resistance: Psion's Gyrokinesis vs target's Stamina or Acrobatics

8D: Crush
The psion is now able to focus gravity around a single target to the point of crushing them with gravity's pull. The Psion must first succeed in a moderate difficulty check and concentrate, before attacking.

Difficulty: Moderate

Range: Line of Site

The Psion creates a sphere of translucent gravity around a single target. For a Psion to use this power, he/she must declare the use of at least 2 actions. The first action is the creation of the gravity sphere, which is done through a successful moderate Gyrokinesis roll plus any range difficulty modifiers.

The second action is to focus on the sphere, allowing it to crush the intended target. To perform this, the Psion rolls his/her Gyrokinesis skill vs the target's stamina (+armor) or acrobatics. If successful, the character hit by the sphere suffers the remainder of the Psion's Gyrokinesis Skill roll in Damage. They may use armors to resist.

Range Modifiers-

SHORT: 5

MEDIUM (+5): 10

LONG (+10): 20

9D: Gravity Constructs
The psion spends an action and is able to make simple pieces of gravity that can remain for extended amounts of time (even permanent if the psion is focused enough). This construct can only be created in an area that the psion can see (must see entire area where he/she is creating the construct. Through focus, the psion compiles and programs gravity to stay in a new, permanent form.

The character must first choose what type of shape they wish to make. The shape is limited to the psion's Gyrokinesis skill in cubed meters (1 square per skill die). These blocks must be connected. This shape and size is up to the psion (can be one line of 9 squares vertical or horizontally, as well as a 3x3 wall, etc.).  

The psion then spends a character point and makes a Gyrokinesis roll. If the roll fails, the character uses the character point regardless, but nothing happens. If the roll makes the difficulty check (see modifiers below), they refer to the success chart and depending on the result, create a Gravity Construct. This construct has an armor rating (no scale no matter what the height and weight) equal to the psion's Gyrokinesis roll, and body points equal to the Gyrokinesis skill x 5. Once the body points reach zero, the construct is destroyed.

IE: Sam the Psion is exploring the wilderness and has decided to camp out for a few hours. He decides he wants to create a 3x3 floating roof to cover himself from the rain pouring down on him. He first looks at an area above him that he can see, and spends an action plus a character point to begin shaping the Gravity Construct. He then rolls his Gyrokinesis (He has a Gyrokinesis skill of 9D), and gets a result of 27. The construct has been created and will last ~~~ . Since it has an armor rating of 9D and Body Point total of 45 (9Dx5), he's safe not only from rain, but any branches or debris that may fall from above (but not the sides due to how he's shaped it). Sam can come and go as he pleases without sustaining the Gravity Wall, but once the time runs out or enough damage is done to it, the ceiling disappears.

10D Black Hole Creation- - The user can create small Black Hole in the palm of their hand that does everything within it's power to consume all. There are even some psionic theorists who believe that such creations can be made permanent fixtures of the universe, although permanency is a rather relative thing in regards to the Universe's concept of time as opposed to said theorists.

Range: Self

Duration: Sustainable and Permanent

Difficulty : Heroic

Modifiers:

-5 to difficulty if the Character is in an environment with relatively strong gravity

+5 to difficulty if the Character is in an environment with relatively weak gravity

+10 to difficulty if the Character is in an environment with no gravity

Cost: 1 Fate Point to create and 1 Character Point per round sustained

Rules:

When a Psion spends a Fate Point to Create a Black Hole in the palm of their hand they must decide at what Strength they will create such be it 1D of Strength or 10D of Strength, although they can never create a Black Hole Stronger then their Gyrokinesis Skill Dice. On that the Black Hole is created all creatures and objects within the pull must make Strength, Lifting, Gyrokinesis, or other appropriate Skill Checks v.s. The Black hole's Strength. Black Holes are considered to have Scale of Zero, also known as Normal Character Scale, anything larger then such can gain gain the difference as a bonus to resists the Black Hole's Pull, anything smaller then Character Scale is going to be taking a penalty on it's rolls to resist the pull of the Black Hole. Every round that the Black Hole is sustained costs the Psion 1 Character Point, and even the Psion who has created the Black Hole must struggle against it's pull. The Black Hole's pull loses 1D of Strength for every 10 Meters distance between it and the object resisting it's pull.

Characters and objects who are capable of resisting the Pull are pulled 1 meter closer to the Black Hole for ever 1 point in which the Black Hole's pull have beaten their resistance test. ((Clawing at the floor and Walls, or otherwise actively struggling to resist))

Character's and objects who are incapable of resisting the Pull are moved 10 meters closer to the Black Hole for every point that the Pull beats the difficulty needed to lift them. (( Unconscious characters more or less, or those with no means to effectively resist))

Character's and Objects that are pulled into the Black Hole take the Black Hole's Strength in Damage every round until they are broken or dead, in which they are then consumed by the Black Hole. There is no resisting this damage with Armor, Cyber-Ware, nor Shields.

When a Black Hole is no longer sustained, it's location acts as Ground Zero for a Miniature Big Bang. For Every Round the Black Hole was sustained the Minature Big Bang gains 1D of Damage. For every Character Sized Creature the Black Hole consumed whole, the Minature Big Bang gains 1D of Damage. For Every Larger then a Character Object the Black Hole Consumes the Game Master should decide how many dice the Mini-Big Bang gains in Strength.

Eventually when the Psion decides to no longer sustain the Black Hole because he or she is a quitter, or because they them self were consumed....the Black Hole immediately becomes the Miniature Big Bang doing it's Strength in Damage to everyone in adjacent Squares or within 1 Meter of Ground Zero. This explosion is not treated like a grenade, and one can not dodge away from the blast radius, although the explosion does lose 1D of Strength for every Square or Meter it has to travel pass the squares adjacent to ground zero.

This Psionic Ability has been nerfed so that it is not as powerful as Telekinesis in its early stages. The 2D ability now allows the Gyrokinesis psion to travel quicker in 0-G, while the improved lift ability has been moved to 7D.
