The Sentinels

The Sentinels are an organization set up by the Hexisan Union to guard the Hexisan Council and conduct their precarious tasks. They are hand picked from the most paramount warriors, scholars and psions. Once chosen, the Sentinel candidates are erased from all data systems and sent through a rigorous program that takes nearly a century to complete. The course teaches nominees the better kept secrets of the universe, fringe sciences and how to master their minds and bodies. Many Sentinels withdraw due to madness, but the few who do succeed, are given the title Sentinel and everything that the position entitles.

Sentinels are pampered with the best technology the Union has to offer, including bionetics, DNA altering, psionic treatments and high tech gadgets. Some have even gone so far as nicknaming the Sentinels “demigods” because of their powerful physical and mental abilities. They can be found at most times protecting their assigned Council member, as each representative is designated a Sentinel upon induction. These Sentinels are taught to obey any command given by their proprietor. Currently, there are 19 Sentinels, all which have been in their position for years. There are another ten on reserve, having completed their training, but with no one to be assigned to.

The Sentinels have been sent on several unified missions in the past, all of them a complete success. They’ve helped quell the Rasari uprising, relocate inhabitants of Vatari 7 before it was swallowed by the Konaxian Black Hole, and destroy a deadly school of cosmic Doom Squid headed for the Hexisan headquarters. They have also saved the lives of several Council members during separate assassination attempts. With such might at there fingertips, its no surprise that several organizations have petitioned to put an end to the Sentinel program, ruling it too dangerous for the safety of Hexisan citizens. Sentinels are given ultimate authority and unlimited power, a combination that could put the fate of the Hexisan people at risk. Nonetheless, the Sentinels are still in power, taking orders from Council members as they see fit.

TERRAN SENTINELS OF NOTE

Valkyrie

While it’s not a rule that all Hexisan Council members use their own species to protect them, such seems to always be the case. For Prime Minister, Lord Theomund Alexander III, there is no other Human within the Milky Way that he’d rather have at his side then his guardian “Valkyrie” . Protected in her favorite Altarian War Suit, Valkyrie has the latest in Hexisan Union battle gear. She also uses her psionic ability of telekinesis to disarm foes, push Lord Theomund to safety and throw her deadly projectile weapons. She favors her tungsten sword and hand blade, flying at targets and removing them from combat with a simple swoop. Valkyrie has been Lord Theomund’s Sentinel for six years now, and is best known for thwarting an assassination attempt during the Prime Minister’s speech on live television. Her grizzly disposal of both assassins is still talked about to this day.

Meeknod

Meeknod (Wild-Stone) is the Ullitor Sentinel in charge of protecting his racial representative, Carmen Sadulk. Meeknod is quite intelligent, and personally forged his titanium armor in order to protect both him and his Council spokesperson. The armor also has air filters, hydrolic systems for speed and strength, plus an array of different sensors. Meeknod uses a vast assortment of weapons, but prefers his plasma cannon in order to completely wipe-out anyone trying to harm Council Member Sadulk. Meeknod is the largest of the Sentinels and is a frightening presence to take in, even for veteran warriors.

Magnus

Magnus is the Solin Sentinel in charge of protecting Solin Council Member, Darkathius Landon. Magnus is hardwired with the latest biological enhancements, making him faster, stronger and more agile then most ordinary soldiers. He usually can be found in a set of heavy security armors which he’s heavily modified to hold an array of special ammunition for his laser carbine. Magnus favors suppressive tactics, spraying down halls and corridors as to buy time for Darkathius as he makes his way to safety. Magnus, above all other sentinels believes that keeping his Council Member alive is far more important than exacting justice on those who would put Darkathius in harms way. His composed demeanor and clever tactics have earned him the nickname “Chess Master” among his peers.

9 "Nine"

9 is the Naga Sentinel in charge of representing Naga Hexisan Council Member Beesha. 9 , as his name implies, is the ninth Naga Sentinel to protect Gringad in his very short time in office. Because of Naga altered DNA, 9 and the others before him, have had a very hard time adjusting to the great deal of cybernetic and biological upgrades. The adrenaline, muscle and nervous tissue additions have shortened each Naga’s life spans drastically, giving them only a few years before their bodies give out on them. Nonetheless, 9 accepts his fate and considers it an honor to protect his Council Member. He favors side arms and plasma explosives, terrorizing those who would look to challenge him with an assortment of attacks.

HEXISAN SENTINELS OF NOTE

Morcathan

Morcathan (More-Ca-Thin) is likely the most powerful of Sentinels currently protecting the Hexisan Council. The veteran Altarian has been in his position for decades, and is one of original eight. He is a powerful psion, using his Pyrokinesis, Vitakinesis , and Telekinesis to wreak havoc on enemies of Hexisan. He also has had numerous biological modifications, making him physically stronger than most other Altarian warriors. His suit is made from psi-tech engineering and helps him resist other’s mental manipulations while acting as armor. Morcathan’s favored method of assault is with his Smart-Weapon, a searing hand blade, which he uses to carve into his enemies. Morcathan has been an intricate part of several battles, and is said to be nearly immortal. Rumors spread far and wide that Morcathan may be responsible for the current “missing Elders” issue plaguing the Council, as he disappeared the very night his master did.

Meenok

Meenok is the most formidable of all four Novacon Sentinels. Reports from his physicians state that the Novacon Guardian is made up of nearly 95% synthetic material. Everything from strength enhancing cybernetics to an additional heart have been stuffed in the creature, making him practically invincible. Meenok has served on the board for nearly four years now, replacing veteran sentinel, Brothos, who died protecting his Council Member from Novacon Insurgents. Meenok has eagerly took on his duties, and has already proven his worth by conducting several high risk missions for his master. Meenok favors a set of modified Novacon Warrior armors which he uses in  combination with his metal  fists to become the ultimate pugilist. Other modifications allow Meenok to walk on walls, jump unnaturally high and resist energy attacks through bare flesh alone.

Tengar

Tengar is Balidar Sentinel responsible for protecting Madjeer of “The Pack”. Tenger uses bionic modifications and his psionic abilities as the ultimate line of defense when protecting his Council Member. Tengar is one of the more cruel Sentinels, taking pleasure in the people he must kill in order to care for Madjeer. Like most Balidar, Tengar is a master climber, and can often be found hopping from wall to wall in battle. He has been accused of murdering a competing Sentinel during his years in the Sentinel Academy, but the evidence which could condemn him never surfaced. This only adds to Tengar’s reputation as a “lunatic”, a nickname which has been whispered behind his back many times.

Cecil

Cecil is the Elashani Sentinel in charge of caring for Enock, eldest of the Elashani Council Members. Cecil has always had a drive for adventure and volunteered early on in his youth to aid Hexisan explorers. For years Cecil explored the galaxy with a band of government surveyors, using nothing more than his rusty Trode Armor to earn his reputation as a famed fortune-hunter. Later, once the crew disbanded, Cecil volunteered his services to the Sentinels, erasing his past and starting anew. Once in the academy walls, Cecil helped in the construction of the ultimate Trode Armor. This super agile suit appears to be more humanoid than traditional Trode Armor, with a multitude of weapons and gadgets for maximum efficiency. However, as dangerous as Cecil may be, he is quite light hearted, indulging in jokes and playful banter whenever he gets a chance. This sometimes aggravates the other Sentinels, who take their work very seriously.

Eelo-Ei-Esh

Eelo-Ei-Esh (ELO-E-esh) is the most fearsome of the Rasari Sentinels. The warrior works closely with his Council Member Fen-Dorian, aiding him in any Hexisan matters as needed. He’s a master fighter, favoring close quarter weapons over ranged. He’s one of the most elite unarmed fighters of all the Sentinels and is a master with any Smart-Weapon sword. Eelo-Ei-Esh has been in his position for the last few years, mostly working by himself or with the other Rasari Sentinels (as most Council Members don’t work with the Rasari due to bias feelings). He’s recently began working with some of the Terran Sentinels, who don’t discriminate against the Rasari for their past. Eelo-Ei-Esh can always be found in his aquatic armors which use water-based bacteria to repair the armor if and when it’s damaged.
