Necrokinesis

With this power, the Psion's ability revolves around manipulating the dead, death, and life-forces. Psions can communicate with the recently deceased, and can even cheat Death one way or other.
---------- ----------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------- ----------
1D Health Diagnosis: The Psion can touch a target to identify any injury, disease, age, etc. automatically. This ability takes mere seconds (5 seconds or 1 round). The Psion can not determine how the target received the ailment, but can locate where it the body the injury is affecting.

2D Death Revival: With this power, the Psion is capable of bringing someone who is freshly dead back from the brinks of nothingness.

3D Pain Suppression: With this power, the Psion can block pain at will for themselves only, allowing them to continue to move despite grievous injury. Users can think clearly, continue to move, ignore torture and general function in situations where pain would disable a normal person.

4D Wound Transfer: With this ability, the Psion can heal his/her own physical wounds or poisons (plasma, stabbings, broken bones, snake bites) by transferring them into someone they've touched. The Psion must be in physical contact with the living subject, and can transfer the physical wounds (but not diseases, age, etc.) at a rate of 1 damage point per second (five points per round). The target suffers all of the effects that the healed Psion would, and must be looked after by trained physicians to mend the new damage. This ability will not work if the target is dead. Any living creature being targeted by Wound Transfer automatically gets a Stamina check versus the Psion's Necrokinesis roll result to not take any damage.

5D Echoes of the Past: With this ability, the Psion understands the biology of dead cells, and can interpret what they've once experienced through interpretation. A Necrokinesis Psion can psychically see, hear, taste, smell, and feel the last memories someone had before their death with a mere touch. This ability can only be used on the dead, and only shortly after their death. The Psion must be touching target. The older the corpse, the more difficult it is for the Psion to decipher the past, until it is all but impossible.

6D Distant Necrosis: This Psionic ability works in the reverse of traditional healing. Instead of curing a target’s wounds, they can inflict damage to the subject instead by mere line of site. This damage must be physical wounds (can not be diseases or poisons). The Psion must be able to see the subject and needs to concentrate on the subject for at least five seconds (1 round). The subject resists with a Stamina check, comparing their result to the Necrokinesis Psion's roll. These wounds all depend on how much focus the Psion has while inflicting them, but are translated as necrosis of internal tissue. If a recipient dies from the inflicted injuries, their body becomes black or discolored. Upon a full diagnosis, it is revealed that the living tissue has stopped prematurely due to cell deterioration.

7D Mediumship: Through a form of telepathic profiling, a Necrokinesis Psion can touch the deceased and build a profile of them by accessing past memories. Once these memories are attained, the Psion can give suggestions, answer questions, or tell hidden secrets based on what the deceased would most likely say. While outsiders feel as if the Psychic is actually speaking with a ghost or spirit, the Psion is actually only comprehending the dead's personality and memories.

8D Reanimation: This grizzly ability allows the Psion to animate the freshly deceased, letting the dead move and react in accordance to the Psychic's wishes. The Psion must be touching the subject during reanimation and must spend character points to complete the process. Once resurrected, the dead subject is under the control of the Psion, sharing senses through a psychic link. The Psion must concentrate, and suffers a penalty for any other actions taken while mentally commanding the dead. The corpse is otherwise mindless when not being controlled. After reanimation, the Psychic no longer needs to touch the dead, and can control them much like a drone.

9D Necrotic Mob: With Necrotic Mob Command, the Psion can manipulate multiple subjects that are already under his/her reanimation ability. The Psion can only communicate with basic commands such as "come here", "go", "fight", "stand still", and so on. The dead does not resist the commands, even if they are obviously harmful. These commands are telepathic, and the dead does not need to physically hear you. At any time the Psion can give new commands to either an individual or multiple reanimated dead. Each command takes a single action.

10D Necrotic Immortality: Through suspending cells from aging, the Psion can never die, although they can still experience pain, injuries, mortal wounds, or become unconscious. Their body will never rot, age or grow old. The Psion must concentrate for one full day, and spend an appropriate amount of character points. Once the Psionic ritual is complete, the Psychic has become immortal.

Afterwards, the character will never age. If they are ever dropped to zero Body Points, they do not die. Instead, they are reduced to the most minimal of physical actions, such as squirming and moaning. They can do nothing else until they receive special aid. HOWEVER, should their entire body be destroyed (lava, exploding space vessel, etc.), the Immortal character is finally dead for good.

1D Health Diagnosis:

The Psion can touch a target to identify any injury, disease, age, etc. automatically. This ability may takes mere seconds or longer. The Psion may attempt to determine the various aliments and injures affecting the target.

Range: Touch

Duration: Sustainable

Difficulty: 11

Modifiers:

+5 to difficulty if the target is of a different species then the Psion. ( A human targeting a Novacon)

+10 to the if the target is of a radically different species then the Psion. (A human targeting an Elashani)

+20 or more if the target is a completely unknown species to the Psion. (A living Sentient Planet, Sentient Psionicly active AI's, etc...)

Effect:
For every round that this power is sustained upon a Target, the Psion may add their Necrokinesis Skill Dice to their Medicine Dice Pool for attempts to determine what injures, poisons, toxins, and diseases are effecting the target.

Medicine Diagnosing Chart

Action
Determine existence of disease or injury               Difficulty              7
Time required: 1 round

Determine toxicity of substance                           Difficulty                7
Time required: 1 minute

Determine type of disease, toxin, or injury               Difficulty            12
Time required: 1 minute

Determine medicine, procedure, or antidote required         Difficulty    18
Time required: 1 round to 1 hour

Determine cause                                                        Difficulty        24
Time required: 1 day to 1 week

NOTE: The Chart above is the Chart used for Medicine Skill Checks unmodified by Necrokinesis, and that Necrokinesis's ablity Health Diagnosis can allow a Psion to learn in rounds what may take Minutes, Hours, or Days for Modern Medicine to discover on it's own. Also know that to get full us of this ability it is important for Characters to have some understanding of the Medicine Skill.

2D Death Revival :
The Psion can touch a freshly dead target in order to bring them back to life. The Necrokinesis only has an amount of rounds equal to the victim’s STRENGTH attribute (round up for pips). Once the Death Revival power begins, you no longer need to count the number of rounds before they are “un-recoverable” unless the Psion’s concentration is broken. Reviving the freshly dead victim requires an additional number of rounds equal to the Psion’s Necrokinesis skill value minus the target’s body. IE: If A psion has a Necrokinesis skill of 5D and the victim had a body of 3D, it will take two consecutive rounds before the power is complete. . A check then must be made with a difficulty based on the psion’s familiarity to the victim’s body (see chart below). If successful, the target is revived. Once the target is revived, they are brought up the highest number on their wound chart for “Mortally Wounded”, and may begin rolling again as to not to bleed out. Death Recovery can only be used on an individual victim once per day, no matter if they are suffering from a new set of wounds or not.

Range: Touch

Duration: Sustainable

Difficulty: 11

Modifiers:

+5 to difficulty if the target is of a different species then the Psion. ( A human targeting a Novacon)

+10 to the if the target is of a radically different species then the Psion. (A human targeting an Elashani)

+20 or more if the target is a completely unknown species to the Psion. (A living Sentient Planet, Sentient Psionicly active AI's, etc...)

3D: Pain Supression
The Psion may ignore pain so long as they concentrate hard enough. With a single action, the user may focus on shaking off physical aches and soreness by rolling their Necrokinesis skill. The psion’s target number to beat is the numerical amount of damage dealt to them. If they fail, the pain still occurs. If the psion succeeds however, they may operate without damage penalties or stun modifiers so long as they are conscious. Every round after, the psion must spend at least one action sustaining the power or suffer the penalties of the damage modifiers. If the user’s unconscious damage bar is filled, the power automatically cancels and the user goes down accordingly. This power can be used by the psion an unlimited amount of times, but can only be administered on themselves.

4D: Wound Transfer:

With this ability, the Psion can heal their own physical wounds or recover from poisons (plasma, stabbings, broken bones, snake bites) by stealing it from another person’s vitality. The Psion must be touching a living subject to use this ability. The power can be done voluntarily, or with a touch attack (unarmed attack acted rolled according to D6 Space rules). The Psion siphons life a maximum rate of five health per round maximum and can be sustained so long as they are touching the target each round.

The psion must succeed in a successful concentration check by rolling their Necrokinesis skill (see below chart for target number with modifiers) to receive the health. The result number is the amount of health they can steal during the transfer process. If contact is broken, the psion may try again, but must make a new concentration check with the same modifiers on the chart below. If contact is NOT broken, the psion merely needs to spend another action to sustain the power, and automatically takes another five points of the target’s health. If the target is driven to zero points, they no longer can be drained by the psion.

Range: Touch

Duration: Sustainable

Difficulty : 11

+5 if a target is effected by a Poison

+5 if the target is effected by a Disease

Effect: Heal an amount of points

5D: Echoes of the Past
The psion touches a formerly sentient corpse and begins to read past imprinted memories inside the hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, and spine. Through intense interpretation, the psion can understand past recollections, in a reverse autobiographical order (newest to oldest memories). The Psion must have at least the head or torso of the corpse for this ability to work (or just a head or just a torso). They then spend an amount of hours equal to the length in months that the corpse has been deceased (minimum of 1 hour) with the target. This power works like a first person recording, but only taps into the character’s senses (not emotions). The psion see’s through their eyes, hears through their ears, feels through their flesh, smells through their nose, and tastes through their oral senses.

The Psion makes a check, rolling his/her Necrokinesis skill, with the modifiers below added to the base difficulty. When the hours are complete, the Psion checks the result chart and comprehends accordingly. This view of the dead person’s senses is in a state of fast forward, and it hard to understand without proper mastery. If the psion is looking for specific information, it makes things more difficult. Otherwise, searching the person’s neural based memory cells only gives the Psion an idea of the corpse’s past. This ability can only be used once on any target by the specific psion, and does nothing if attempted again (a different psion with the same ability may try as well though).

Range: Touch

Duration: 1 Hour per month the victim is dead

Difficulty: 11

Modifiers:

+5 to difficulty if the target is of a different species then the Psion. ( A human targeting a Novacon)

+10 to the if the target is of a radically different species then the Psion. (A human targeting an Elashani)

+20 or more if the target is a completely unknown species to the Psion. (A living Sentient Planet, Sentient Psionicly active AI's, etc...)

+5 for each month that the corpse has been dead (accumulative with a minimum of 1 month)

+10 if searching for a specific memory

Results

*Rolls a 1 on wild die: Along with the success or failure, some of the target’s memories get imprinted on the user and come into play in future role playing

*Roll under target difficulty: Fails the attempt and unable to learn anything about the target

*Succeeds by 1-5 points: Character can access memories through target’s senses, but certain facts are very blurry or questionable

*Succeeds by 6-10 points: Character coherently uses the imprinted senses to learn general details about person or attains the majority of certain facts

*Succeeds by 11-15 points: Character fully understands who the person was and/or experiences everything the target did during certain times with pinpoint accuracy

6D: Distant Necrosis
The psion spends an action focusing on the target, who must be in their line of site, to active the ability. The psion must next pit their Necrokinesis skill against the target’s Stamina. If the target’s stamina roll is higher than the psion’s, the attack does nothing except consume an action. However, if the psion exceeds, they then take the additional amount of points that they won the dice-off by and divide it by two. This is the amount of physical damage that is dealt to the target. This damage is un-resistible except by other exotic psionic abilities.

7D: Mediumship
By focusing on a deceased target, the psion can read who they were and create a profile of the person through genetic translation. The psion literally reads imprinted memories within the cerebral cortex, detects chemicals within the spine, and collects data on all other parts of the body still intact. When Mediumship is complete, and if the psion is powerful enough, he/she can build a personality for the deceased in order to more thoroughly understand certain questions.

This ability takes an hour of concentration with a corpse per year (not month like Echoes of the Past) that the person has been dead. The Psion makes a check, rolling his/her Necrokinesis skill, with the modifiers below added to the base difficulty. When the hours are complete, the Psion checks the result chart and comprehends accordingly. This profiling does not recall old memories (but can be used with Echoes of the Past to do so), rather opinions, ideas, reasoning for any questions that might be had. Most psions use this ability to understand ancient cultures, look for guidance from old allies, or bring to light actions of the past. Searching the target's neural based memory cells only gives the Psion an emotional understanding of what the person is likely to do. This ability can only be used once on any target by the specific psion, and does nothing if attempted again (a different psion with the same ability may try as well though).

Range: Touch

Duration: 1 Hour per year the victim is dead

Difficulty: 11

Modifiers:

+5 to difficulty if the target is of a different species then the Psion. ( A human targeting a Novacon)

+10 to the if the target is of a radically different species then the Psion. (A human targeting an Elashani)

+20 or more if the target is a completely unknown species to the Psion. (A living Sentient Planet, Sentient Psionicly active AI's, etc...)

+5 for each month that the corpse has been dead (accumulative with a minimum of 1 month)

+10 if searching for a specific memory

Results

*Rolls a 1 on wild die: Along with the success or failure, some of the target’s emotions/opinions get imprinted on the user and come into play in future role playing

*Roll under target difficulty: Fails the attempt and unable to learn anything about the target

*Succeeds by 1-5 points: Character understands who the person was, and gets insight on their opinions, but only as much as a best friend would. This profile is mostly accurate with occasional errors.

*Succeeds by 6-10 points: Character knows the target and understands them completely. All questions or concerns are answered accurately.

*Succeeds by 11-15 points: Character fully understands who the person was and even picks up mannerisms and habits the target had. The psion may add +1 to the target's highest skill they once possessed for the remainder of the day.

8D: Reanimation
The user must be touching a deceased subject who was sentient during life for this power to work. Once the psion has physical contact with a target corpse, they must spend a round and a character point (regardless if the reanimation process is successful), before rolling their Necrokinesis skill. The psion must beat the target number, which is dictated by the circumstance chart below. If the psion fails, the character point is wasted and nothing happens. If the psion succeeds, a psychic bridge connects the user with his/her target corpse, and the dead body has now become animated.

Once animated, the psion must spend an action each round just to sustain the reanimation ability. The psion is limited to one corpse at a time. It takes an additional action to command the corpse (so ordering the cadaver to run its full movement would be two actions, 1 to sustain, 1 to direct). Each corpse is limited to one command per round by the psion. Though the psychic link between the psion and corpse is foggy, it is enough for the user to perceive through the eyes and ears of the creature. Though the corpse does not need to be in line of site of the psion, the creature’s maximum range is limited by the psion’s Necrokinesis skill x 100 meters.

Reanimated corpses use their original physical attributes (Dexterity, Strength, Perception), but can not use any mental attributes (Knowledge, Technical, Mechanical). All physical skills default to the attribute regardless if the creature had the skills in life. Reanimated corpses do not suffer from wound penalties, nor can they drown or die from disease or poison. They can stay animated for an amount of days equal to the psychic’s Necrokinesis skill before collapsing. Once a corpse has been animated, it can never be reanimated again, even by another psion with the Necrokinesis skill.

Circumstance Modifiers

Range: Touch

Duration: 1 round to activate

Cost: 1 Character Point

Difficulty: 11

Area Psion’s Necrokinesis skill rating x 100 meters

+5 for each week that the corpse has been dead (accumulative with a minimum of +5)

+10 if corpse is missing limbs or has severe damage to the body

9D: Necrotic Mob
This ability enhances the Necrokinesis power “Reanimation”. The psion uses the rules for reanimation as normal, but now has these added benefits…

The psion can reanimate more than one corpse at a time. The new maximum amount that a psion can reanimate is equal to the psion’s Necrokinesis skill x their Perception attribute.

Corpses now last an amount of days equal to the psion’s Necrokinesis skill x their Perception attribute before the cadaver permanently dies.

A reanimated corpse can be as far away as the psion’s Necrokinesis skill x 10,000 meters (1609 meters to a mile)

Reanimated corpses still use their original physical attributes (Dexterity, Strength, Perception), but also have mental attributes (Knowledge, Technical, Mechanical) equal to 1. If the psion gives a corpse a basic command, it can attempt to complete the task to the best of its ability with an ability score of 1. This skill can not be raised with character points, nor is it considered the dead person’s previous consciousness. Instead, it is a primitive form of thought equal to a primate or basic task droid. It has no emotions or sentimental feelings during this phase.

A psion no longer needs to spend an action sustaining reanimated corpses, but does need to spend an action to give a new task. The psion can give a command to a distinct corpse, specific few, or the entirety of the reanimated mob. A psion can spend additional actions commanding separate reanimated corpses, but each cadaver is limited to one action per round. These commands still must be very basic, IE: "come here", "go", "fight", "stand still", and so on.

10D: Necrotic Immortality
The Psion can manipulate his/her living tissue with Necrokinesis so that they can stop the expiration of cells all together. The Psion can only choose themselves for this ability, and with great focus (1 hour’s worth), stop cellular cessation. The Psion must succeed in a “Heroic” check for the effect to work. If the Psion fails, he/she can not attempt again for at least one year. If they succeed, the target no longer grows old, or die from wounds, disease, etc (though they still suffer from side effects such as wound penalties). If fatally injured to the point of death, the Necromatic Immortal instead is limited to only the most minimal of physical actions, such as squirming or moaning. They can do nothing until they received special aid. This ability is not without exceptions, such as anything that might entirely destroy the immortal’s body (much like the special ability, Immortal).

Cost: 1 Fate Point paid by the Psion, and a total of 100 Character Points
NOTE: THE COSTS ARE PAID REGARDLESS IF THE POWER IS SUCCESSFUL OR NOT

Range: Touch

Duration: Permanent

Difficulty : Heroic
